CLERK: Riverside Public Library, how can I help? CALLER: Hi, my card expired last week, and I have three books on hold. CLERK: Holds stay active for seven days after a card expires, so you're fine for now. Renewal is free for city residents. Do you still live at the same address? CALLER: No, I moved to Brampton in the summer. CLERK: Ah. Brampton residents can still use our branches, but there's an annual fee of forty dollars, unless you work or study in the city. CALLER: I teach at a college here, actually. Does that count? CLERK: It does. Bring a recent pay stub or your staff card to any branch, and we'll renew it at no cost. You can pick up your holds the same visit.
