Your article on banning gas leaf blowers missed an important point. I run a small landscaping company with four employees. Electric blowers cost almost twice as much, and their batteries last about forty minutes. On a full day, we would need several batteries per worker. I support cleaner air, but a ban that starts next spring gives small businesses no time to adjust. A gradual phase out, with a rebate for electric equipment, would get the same result without pushing companies like mine out of business. Larger firms can absorb the cost; we cannot. I would also remind readers that a rake is quieter than any machine, but our customers will not pay for the extra hours it takes. Helen Park, Oakville
